Tomorrowland, Belgium

In 2013 we went for one of the biggest festivals in the world, Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium! It starts on Friday and ends on Sunday, so you get to party for 3 days with people from all over the world. It was also the festivals 10 year anniversary so it lasted for 2 whole weekends that year.

We went again in 2015, and even though it seemed impossible, Tomorrowland had outdone our previous experience by a lot.

TICKET:

In 2013 the ticket entitled you to a normal wristband at the entrance, and you had to purchase tokens from a stall to use at any of the food vendors or bars.

But in 2015, the ticket was actually a watch that you could top up with money, and then tap the watch to pay for anything including merchandise! The watch even lit up with different colors during the night.

FOOD & DRINKS @ THE FESTIVAL

The food was the best I’ve seen at any festival around the world! There was pizza, hot dogs, Chinese food, BBQ, ice cream, waffles, and so much more.

We were spoiled for choice, and it was always interesting because we tried something new whenever we walked past the dining area which was right in the middle of the festival.

STAGES & ARTISTS

On average, there are 14 different stages every year, with probably a 1000 different artists. Each stage is designed to fit the theme, and also compliment the genre of music being played. Each stage is like a concert of its own, and you can’t hear the music from another stage so you can imagine just how big the festival really is!

Sadly you don’t get to see every artist perform, so you need to create a schedule of who you want to see and make it to the stage they’re performing at. We were so blessed to see all our favorite djs like Tiesto, Armin, David Guetta, Hardwell, and so many more. It’s hard not to have a great time when that’s literally what almost a hundred thousand people have come together to do.

EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME:

Last but not least were the fireworks display at the end of the night. It’s by far the most magical thing I have ever seen! They light up the sky with an array of colors for more than 5 minutes non-stop, with each firework being more breathtaking than the last. The feeling of ecstasy cannot be justified with words as goosebumps take over you in that captivating moment.

We made so many friends from different walks of life, but got along famously because as the motto for festivals say, Peace, Love, Unity, Respect. And honestly, I would do it again in a heartbeat <3
